UN type tested and approved leakproof bag for bulk carriage of clinical waste.

New regulations covering the bulk carriage of UN 3291 type clinical waste for processing and disposal came into effect on January 1, 2009. Key changes include:

• All clinical waste transported in bulk to alternative treatment and incineration sites must be carried in approved containers.
• All plastic waste bags used for this purpose must be sealed, leak proof and tested for solids of packing group II.
• Contents should not exceed 30KG.
• Markings must be in accordance with the regulations and provide a visual confirmation that bags have passed tests for bulk transport as defined in the current RID/ADR and IMDG code requirements.

GV Health are pleased to offer the first bulk carriage bag available in the UK which is fully tested and approved to meet or exceed the new regulations. The bags have been strength tested to the following newly applicable standards:

• Dart impact resistance: 165g
• Tear resistance: 480g parallel and perpendicular

Bags have a maximum design contents weight of 30KG and include full markings as required under the new regulations. Yellow incineration and Orange alternative treatment are available.
