SoChlor Granules are designed to absorb body fluid spills so they can be safely collected and disposed of.
Applications Body fluid spills are typically treated with liquid disinfectants such as hypochlorite before being mopped up with paper towels. This spreads fluids from the original spill area, and risks spreading infection further due to inadequate containment. Hypochlorite is deactivated by organic material, potentially making it an ineffective disinfectant for body fluid spills. SoChlor Granules combine a powerful and effective chlorinating agent with absorbent granules. When SoChlor Granules are poured over a body fluid spill, chlorine is released disinfecting the spill as the granules absorb it to contain the spread. Tested and approved SoChlor Granules contain Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC). Recommended by the UK Department of Health, NaDCC is a disinfectant of body fluids and is proven to be effective against bacteria, fungi and viruses.
Scoops Paper towels are insufficiently absorbent for all but the smallest spills and fail to offer suitable protection against potential hazards such as broken glass or hypodermic syringes. SoChlor granules are supplied with scoops which are essential for spillages involving broken glass, hypodermic needles or other sharp objects. Scoops allow nursing staff to keep their hands safely clear of Product Information and Order Codes
